How long in advance do I need to send out My wedding invitations?

My wedding date is set for December 18 2009. When should i mail my invitations and when should i ask for people to R.S.V.P by?

Send them out beginning of November or very end of October. And ask your reception hall when you need to give the final number of how many are coming. Most places need final number 1 week before wedding.
